PANAJI: Sacred soil based on the precincts of well-known temples across Goa is going to be utilized for the base of Ram temple in Ayodhya on August 5. )
The choice to collect the holy dirt from Goa has been accepted by Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP). The initiative started on Thursday with chief minister Pramod Sawant and VHP agents collecting the sacred land at Rudreshwar temple at Harvalem.
‘Not chosen temples nonetheless, but gathered soil’
V HP Goa president Santosh Naik said the additional temples in where the land could be gathered include Lairai temple in Shirgao, Mangesh in Mangueshi, Mahalsa in Mardol, Mahalaxmi in Panaji, Mallikarjun in Canacona and Shantadurga in Kavlem.
“We haven’t chosen temples, but chose to accumulate dirt in a brief period from seven temples around Goa,” he explained.
“It’s a moment of proud privilege the holy soil from the auspicious Rudreshwar temple – Harvalem, Sankhali, is going to be utilised at the basis of the #RamMandir in Ayodhya! I provided my insecurities in the Rudreshwar temple now. Jai Shree Ram!” , CM Sawant tweeted.
Naik said the VHP chose on Wednesday in its meeting held in Ponda. “We shall send the holy dirt through courier to Ayodhya,” Naik said.
He explained Goa being the property of Parshurama, we wished to send something to the base of Ram Mandir. “As we won’t have the ability to take part in ceremony, we chose to ship the holy dirt,” he added.
“When the aim is fulfilled, we’ll feel that Goa is now sacred,” he explained.
