PANAJI: Goa chief minister Pramod Sawant on Monday stated that the state government has determined”to make it compulsory for private hospitals to book 20percent of beds within their ICUs exclusively for Covid control”.
Sawant chaired a meeting with health minister Vishwajit Rane, chief secretary Parimal Rai and wellness secretary Nila Mohanan to review and strengthen the nation’s Covid management.
Discussing the gain in variety of Covid deaths, the chief minister stated that people who reacted to the virus had comorbidities.
“Of the deaths, roughly four to five were suffering from influenza, eight to 10 were at the 80 into 85 age category, and one died due to liver failure. We must see that the deaths are rising because of comorbid conditions,” Sawant said.
