The funding ready for Iffi 2020 is Rs 1,600 lakh, just marginally lower than last year
PANAJI: Chief Union Pramod Sawant on Monday reported no communication was received yet from the central authorities on the behavior of this 51st International Film Festival of India (Iffi) in November, given the Covid-19 pandemic. Sawant, nevertheless, stated that the budget ready for Iffi 2020 was of Rs ,600 lakh, just marginally lower than last year.
Goa is your permanent place for Iffi, in which the festival is hosted annually in November 20 to 28.
Sawant, who’s also the information and broadcasting ministry for Goa, stated that last year ,800 lakh has been the cost on the festival.
Sawant explained at Iffi 2019, a sales of Rs 67 lakh was created from delegate registrations and another Rs 63 lakh in the stalls in the festival. Additionally, Rs 42 lakh was raised through sponsorships. He was reacting to a question tabled through the one-day assembly session.
Sawant additionally said the multiplex at Campal won’t be demolished and is just being refurbished. He explained that the convention center proposed at Dona Paula to get Iffi remains in the first phases of planning.
“The current structure won’t be demolished, just the refurbishment of this multiplex will be completed. The job of appointment consultancy for providing integrated services for renovation, refurbishment of ESG multiplex was granted to Gensys Technologies Pvt Ltd (Project Management Consultancy) in a entire quantity of Rs 40.4 lakh,” Sawant stated from the tabled response.
Concerning the conference center at Dona Paula, Sawant explained that”the job is at the first stage of preparation”.
