Goa includes 404 empty beds in Covid care centers | Goa News


PANAJI: After fourteen days, the authorities eventually showed that the available capacity at Covid care centers on Friday. There are now 158 empty beds in Covid care centers in North Goa and 246 empty beds in centers in South Goa. North Goa has a whole potential of 505 and South Goa 1,006.
The specialist committee on Covid took a decision to deal with critical patients in Goa Medical College (GMC) and Hospital and moderately symptomatic patients in the Ponda sub-district hospital.
“We’re assessing the situation to determine how best we could treat critical patients in GMC. We’re in the process of supplying the very best centers to individuals,” health minister Vishwajit Rane said.
The specialist committee decided to sponsor 30 new nurses for installation in GMC, Rane said. The purchase committee decided to secure more gear for Covid hospitals.
