NEW DELHI: Police arrested Delhi Congress president Anil Kumar and his party colleagues once they gathered near India Gate without consent on Friday to pay tribute to the Indian soldiers killed in a border conflict with Chinese troops, officials said.
Five Delhi Congressmen were sitting close Amar Jawan Jyoti to pay homage to the soldiers murdered in Galwan Valley in Ladakh on June 15, the Delhi Congress leader said.
“The policemen arrived without listening to us pushed us into a car and took us into Tilak Marg police station,” he explained.

A senior police officer said some people had gathered nearby National Stadium with no consent.

“They have been told to distribute immediately in view of the directives of the Central and Delhi authorities. When they refusedthey had been arrested,” he explained.

Twenty Indian Army soldiers were killed in violent conflict with Chinese troops and Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh.
