NEW DELHI: The DMRC on Tuesday said it’s taken a significant step towards creation of an indigenously-built signalling technologies for subway trains in accord with the government’s flagship’Make in India’ initiative.
As a part of this, i-ATS, a significant sub-system of this signalling system, premiered on Tuesday, it said.
“The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation on Engineers Day (September 15) now took a significant step to the growth of an indigenously-built CBTC (Communication Based Train Control) established signalling technologies for metro railroad together with the initiation of the i-ATS, which can be a significant sub-system of this signalling system,” that the DMRC said in an announcement.
ATS (Automatic Train Supervision) is a computer based program, which oversees train operations. This system is crucial for high density surgeries like the metro, in which agencies are scheduled every couple of minutes, it stated.
i-ATS is your indigenously developed technologies, which will significantly lessen the dependence on Indian metros on overseas sellers managing these kinds of technology, officials said.
This prototype system in addition to a state-of-the-art lab for further growing other sub- systems of this CBTC technology has been inaugurated at Shastri Park by Durga Shanker Mishra, Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) at the existence of both DMRC’s Managing Director Mangu Singh, along with other senior officers, it stated.
“It is a really proud event to begin something similar to this which will grow our power about the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative. How we’ve encouraged indigenization in the maturation of metros in the nation, I’m completely confident that this Indian program will also be sold out and we’ll function as leaders in this region too,” Mishra said.
Singh predicted this accomplishment as a”significant step” ahead towards the creation of indigenous technologies needed for the performance of metro rail systems.
“This is a really crucial step to the evolution of a native CBTC system. I am certain that we’ll have the ability to work collectively and scale newer heights to completely indigenize metro railroad construction in addition to operations,” he explained.
Tech systems like the CBTC are largely controlled from the European nations and Japan. Included in this’Earn India’ initiative of the administration of India, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has decided to indigenize the CBTC technologies, ” the announcement said.
Together with DMRC, Niti Aayog, MoHUA, Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) and C-DAC are a part of the development. DMRC was nominated to direct this significant’Make in India’ initiative,” the announcement said.
To take the project forward, DMRC and BEL entered into a MoU for growth of the native ATS system. A committed group of DMRC and BEL, Ghaziabad worked together across the clock to take this crucial step towards’Atmanirbhar Bharat’, it included.
DMRC has made a decision to use native ATS (i-ATS) while updating the ATS online 1 (Red Line) i.e. in Rithala into Shaheed Sthal, Ghaziabad. The exact same shall also be utilized in Phase-IV, the DMRC said.
A few of the critical characteristics of this technology are it can use Train Control and Signalling Systems of distinct providers; i-ATS can operate with unique degrees of engineering of Train management and Signalling Systems, it stated.
Predictive maintenance module will also be released from the Phase-IV corridors utilizing the i-ATS system, ” the announcement said.
Another MoU was signed to the event with BEL for native development of”Rolling Stock Drivers Training System” for coaching driving and troubleshooting skills to train operators,” it stated.
“We’re completely determined by import because of this. It’ll be a mock up of a train’s driving cab using a computer-based system in the rear end, where distinct real life situation will be made to train the operator driving and troubleshooting abilities,” that the DMRC said.
The coaching programs, popularly called driving simulators, secured so much are rolling stock-specific. The native system may be utilized for numerous shares by choosing from one of the alternatives offered in the database,” it said.
