Coimbatore: Following the Bharathiar University (BU) declared that according to the management of the higher education section, concept examinations for final semester students of undergraduate and postgraduate classes will be held online from September 21 into 30, science and arts colleges associated with this college are gearing up to run the examinations.
A mock evaluation will be run on Wednesday to prepare pupils for the online examinations. Autonomous schools have the freedom of holding the examinations in accordance with their program, but in September 30.
B L Shivakumar, leader of Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts and Science, a sovereign faculty, stated they have opted to hold the examinations from September 16 to 30. “We’ve already ran version evaluations on the internet, so pupils are acquainted with it. We plan to run examinations for 400 pupils each day. There’ll be a single invigilator for 16 pupils, who’ll be connected via Google Classroom. This will stop malpractices,” he explained. “Following the examinations, pupils must scan and convert their programs into a PDF document, using their register number on webpages, and ship it into the faculty.”
The Coimbatore Government Arts College, another autonomous faculty, will maintain the examinations for both UG and PG final semester pupils in September 19 to 30, stated chief K Chitra. “a number of our pupils are from remote areas who don’t have any access to net. We’ll send them query papers on WhatsApp plus they could send back the response sheets in PDF format to staff members. The scripts will be contained in a CD and assessed,” she explained. “Each 15 pupils will get an invigilator. Invigilators, HoDs, department faculty, faculty from the computer science division and developers will be present in the school’s computer laboratory, from where invigilation is going to be finished.”
Based on BU, examinations will be held from 10am to 1pm. They’ll be descriptive. Students must write on A4 white papers on a single side. Candidates must log in to the portal half-an-hour prior to the examination starts. Question papers can be downloaded in 9. 45am.
Pupils remaining in distant areas can compose the online examination at the school if they need to, Bharathiar University vice-chancellor P Kaliraj said. “But they ought to adhere to the Covid-19 standard working procedures. If a student can not tackle the examination, we’ll run a supplementary examination by October-end,” he explained.
