CHENNAI: Contributions of the Hoysalas into the area of south Indian temple structure are huge. These monuments are famous for their elegance with sharp and elaborate carvings. Many Hoysala temples are world heritage monuments nowadays.
if you would like to understand more about the architectural marvel of this dynasty, here is a opportunity. Scholar Manoj Gundanna will soon be introducing an electronic conversation on”Hoysala structure: A few distinctive observations” in 5. 30pm August 1.
Organised by the Tamil Heritage Trust, the discussion will cover the popular characteristics of Hoysala temples.
A researcher temple structure, Manoj is an archaeologist by profession. Presently a research partner with Maharani Lakshmi Ammani Research Foundation at Bengaluru, Manoj can also be a source person with the Archaeological Survey of India.
Manoj’s research work concentrates on the analysis of early Dravidian temple structure based on conventional agamas and vastugranthas aside from the analysis of sculptures and iconography according to ancient Sanskrit texts.
He has shown greater than 50 study newspapers both in English and Kannada at different conventions and symposia.
