CHENNAI: DMK welcomed the actions taken by the CB-CID authorities in the previous two days in connection with Sathankulam custodial murder case, said party president M K Stalin on Thursday.
In a declaration, Stalin stated the government was forced to act against the policemen involved in the deaths of Jeyaraj along with his son, J Beniks.
“The CB-CID has significantly altered the first FIR and contains also arrested four individuals such as the prior Sathankulam authorities inspector Sridhar and many others. We welcome it. The authorities needed to act as a result of the requests in the Madurai bench of the Madras high court and due to people’s protests throughout the nation and the country. Dealers also joined the protests by shutting their stores and institutions,” said Stalin.
He stated the authorities shouldn’t believe its occupation is finished with the arrest of those four policemen involved with the scenario, he added.
“In regards to the scenario, individuals, political parties and dealers are seeing each and every measure taken by the authorities. It’s also considered that some buddies of police employees are also involved with the situation and they should also be contested,” said Stalin.
Recalling the non-cooperation from constables attached to the Santhakulam police station in addition to the deletion of all CCTV footage, Stalin stated all these couldn’t have occurred without the aid of senior police officers.
“The public strongly feel all these cannot be carried out by constables attached to the channel but only with assistance from senior officials of this section. In the past couple of days, there are numerous videos moving about in the social media concerning the situation,” said Stalin.
He needed appropriate protection for girl head constable Revathi along with her family as well as for Kovilpatti magistrate Bharathidasan.
“The authorities should collaborate with Bharatidasan inside this probe and see those accountable for the death of dad and child are punished. Chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami shouldn’t feel that by moving the stunt into the CB-CID his obligation is finished. In reality, his responsibility has started just today,” said Stalin.
