MADURAI: The CBI probing the deaths of P Jeyaraj along with his son J Beniks in Sathankulam filed a second status report concerning the progress made in the analysis, in a closed cover, on Monday.
The court was hearing that the suo motu public interest lawsuit initiated after the custodial deaths of their father-son duo. A division bench of Justice M Sathyanarayanan and Justice P Rajamanickam found the CBI report provides information on a meeting of the medical history of forensic medicine experts comprised from the director-general of healthcare, New Delhi, that was convened on September 1 to talk about the custodial deaths.
The judges also detected that the specialists are convening another meeting that would be accompanied by a trip to the area of event and Tirunelveli Medical College Hospital and also an interaction with the physicians concerned.
The judges discovered that it was also mentioned in the status report a multidisciplinary group of Central Forensic Science Laboratory, New Delhi, couldn’t go to the scene of phenomenon because of this Covid-19 outbreak and also since they also have been delegated obligation regarding celebrity Sushant Singh Rajput’s case. . The report indicated that the analysis is currently in progress.
Pursuant to the prior order of the court, the CB-CID had submitted a status report on the advancement from the analysis about the alleged torture meted from October Raja Singh, detained in another instance from the Sathankulam policemen.
The report indicates 28 witnesses are analyzed and 12 files are gathered. The CB-CID had mentioned the need for more time to test other witnesses and gather different files associated with this situation.
The case has been adjourned to September 22 for additional hearing.
