Covid-19 relief operate under MLA’s Local Areas Development Fund: TN govt should discharge guidelines, Stalin states | Chennai News


CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu government should promptly release guidelines to constitute Covid-19 aid work together with of the constituencies under the MLA’s Local Areas Development Fund (LADF), stated DMK president M Stalin on Saturday.
In a declaration, Stalin accused the authorities of preventing DMK MLAs from spending within their constituencies because it fears that the party legislators would obtain support from the general public.
“Shortly after the lockdown has been executed, chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on his own declared that the Rs 1 crore from the complete MLA’s LADF of Rs 3 crore. The authorities also declared that Rs 25 lakh may be allocated to every MLA, but the government hasn’t published the guidelines. Though DMK MLAs have given suggestions to devote the cash, the district collectors and company commissioners are not able to release the cash since there are no guidelines to devote the cash for Covid,” said Stalin.
