Coronavirus at Tamil Nadu: Chennai’s three neighbors together transcend town in number of new Covid-19 instances | Chennai News


CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu on Wednesday reported 6,426 new Covid-19 instances and 82 deaths. This took the accumulative case tally to two,34,114 and total deaths to 3,741.
On Wednesday, the Chennai area — town and the 3 adjoining districts — reported two,412 new cases and 33 deaths). The town reported 21 deaths).
While Chennai saw a small rise to 1,117 compared to 1107 on Tuesday, the 3 districts collectively clocked 1, respectively 295 instances in comparison to 1,074 on Tuesday. Chengalpet reported 540 instances while Kancheepuram and Tiruvallur listed 373 and 382 cases respectively.
The eleven northern districts, together with Chennai area, listed 3,308 new instances. All districts except Tirupattur (41) listed a 3 digit growth. While Ranipet listed 182 instances, Thiruvannamalai enrolled 177 cases) Villupuram logged 138, Kallakurichi enrolled 133, Cuddalore and Vellore reported 120 and 105 cases respectively.
The cost at the northern districts was 42. The area needed 31,964 active instances, such as 12,735 at Chennai.
With 1,828 new situations, the tally in southern districts spanned 47,865 on Wednesday, which incidentally will be the smallest number of cases weekly. Even though Tirunelveli, Tuticorin and Virudhunagar listed 379, 370 and 316 respectively, Madurai listed 225.
