CHENNAI: 20,000 Indian pupils, who had been pursuing higher education in Chinese universities, are stranded in India since China hasn’t lifted the ban on entry of overseas pupils. The livelihood of 500 Indian college, also, is hanging fire since the Chinese ministry of education has advised them to not come to China with no call from their various associations.
Based on an announcement issued by the Indian embassy at Beijing on Monday, Indian pupils have yet to be included in the listing of classes for thieves who will enter China.
Indian embassy takes up pupils’ cause
While the Indian embassy has taken up the matter with Chinese government, including the ministry of education (in China), their reaction of the Chinese government regarding their stance on the recurrence of overseas students to China hasn’t arrive however, said the announcement.
Indian pupils, who are largely from the medical flow, are advised to stay connected with their various universities and schools in this aspect.
The ministry of education from China has declared that all foreign students and educators not having received notices from their various institutions won’t be permitted to return to their own schools or universities.
It has made re-entry into China a struggle for both teachers and students. “Many of these international students and educators in China have been requested to return to their own states after the outbreak of Covid-19 early this season. Just a few Indians still stay there,” a Indian educator stated.
Meanwhile, the visas of several faculty and students have died.
According to rough estimates, about 18,000 Indian students are studying in 45 medical universities around China. The Medical Council of India statistics reveal these universities had an yearly quota of 3,370 chairs in 2019-2020.
Another Indian instructor said China doesn’t need global pupils to reunite for today. “Pupils have changed to online courses, but they’ll lose on practical expertise,” the teacher included.
