ED likely to change investigations into illegal liquor trade in Punjab to Delhi | Chandigarh News


PATIALA: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) will be very likely to move investigations to the Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR) enrolled to check into the illegal liquor trade from Punjab into Delhi.
The joint manager in the ED’s Jalandhar regional division, Ashok Gautam, said that he hadn’t received any formal communication from the headquarters to move the case to Delhi, however the resources in the ED stated the team exploring the matter was requested to stall the stunt until the case is moved to Delhi.

But, sources said the state authorities has delivered in writing to the ED all 10 cases linked to illegal trade that have been integrated from the ED from the ECIR’have been explored with law enforcement and challans are filed in the courts, hinting that currently ED can take the particulars of those cases from the courts.
The ED has up to now contained five FIRs enrolled in Patiala district because 2018, three enrolled at Mohali and one every enrolled in Khanna and Ludhiana. Moreover, 1 FIR each enrolled in Taran Taran, Batala, Amritsar rural in which the hooch tragedy also have been made a part of this ECIR.
