Odisha authorities swings into action following Sonu Sood tweets to assist cancer patient | Bhubaneswar News


BHUBANESWAR: The Bargarh district management swung into action after obtaining requests via social websites from other folks such as Bollywood celebrity Sonu Sood to assist a cancer patient in Kulunda village beneath Attabira police station at Bargarh district.
The individual Ratnabati Padhan, 22, is afflicted by stage-IV lung cancer. She wants help to get costliest drugs. Her father, a small farmer, has spent approximately Rs 5 lakh in her treatment in the last seven months. Her younger brother, who had been studying in class XII, stopped education due to the fiscal instability.
“After undergoing acute cough in January, I’d seen a local clinic in Attabira. Afterwards I have admitted in VIMSAR Burla for therapy. They didn’t receive any significant motives of my own cough. Following that, my loved ones required me to Visakhapatnam for health care in February. They guessed cancer but didn’t say anything apparent. We arrived to AIIMS Bhubaneswar for appointment. They affirmed that I’m suffering from lung cancer,” explained Padhan, who’s pursuing her master degree in economics in space mode.
She obtained two chemotherapy at AIIMS Bhubaneswar in February. Afterwards she obtained another 2 chemos at VIMSAR in May. “Once I sensed some health difficulties, I have admitted in AIIMS back on July 2. I obtained Covid confident at the hospital during treatment. I have discharged from the hospital July 16. I’m at home today and taking expensive chemo medications’Crizalk’. We do not have cash to purchase that. Luckily, our regional MLA Snehangini Chhuria has given me medicine of Rs 30,000 and procuring for me personally,” she added.
Sukant Kumar Meher from International Human Rights Council stated Padhan requires more cash to finish the last course of therapy. “Physicians of AIIMS Bhubaneswar has advised her to choose chemo medication’Crizalk’ for a period of 2 months. Now the monthly cost for this medication is about Rs 1.5 lakh. I ask the authorities to enroll her household in Biju Swastya Kalyan Yojana or some other financial aid scheme for additional therapy,” he added.
Meher had tweeted Padhan’s problem on Saturday tagging Bollywood actor Sonu Sood. The celebrity responded to the tweet following half an hour requested Odisha chief minister’s office for intervention. Later added chief secretary Pradeep Jena responded to Meher’s post stating,”Bargarh district magistrate, please look to this situation personally when she could be helped to be treated in the Acharya Harihar Regional Cancer Center, Cuttack. She demands support at this phase. Please ask your main district medical officer (CDMO) to research this and organize for her therapy.”
Bargarh collector Jyoti Ranjan Pradhan stated he’d sent local tehsildar into the woman’s home on Saturday. “I’ve discussed with AHRCC manager about the woman’s health problems. During query, we discovered that this medication isn’t accessible with AHRCC. We’re also attempting to find the medication for Padhan,” he added.
