BENGALURU: Protesting imposition of Hindi, a part of pro-Kannada activists on Monday ruined the nameboard in KSR Bengaluru City railroad station.
The board in the primary entrance exhibited the title of the railroad station in 3 languages — Kannada, Hindi and Language . A group of activists, under the banner of shouted slogans against the Centre for imposing Hindi and for not giving significance to Kannada. They vandalised that the Hindi letters onto the signboard using rocks.
E Vijaya, chief PRO of SWR, stated:”According to the policy of the Union authorities and present principles, nameboards at channels possess a standard format throughout the nation, concerning number and sequence of languages must be exhibited. The episode is unlucky.”
