BBMP’s flip-flop on evaluation results leaves household of eight fearful | Bengaluru News


BENGALURU: After being advised that their neck swab samples had tested negative for Covid-19, a 32-year-old girl in Bengaluru and eight members of her family travelled to Ramanagara to attend a marriage. Imagine their shock afterward when BBMP officials phoned them up and explained they were , really, infected.
The ordeal for Amita (name changed) and her family started on June 19 when a cousin spiked a fever and complained of distress. She had been taken to hospital the exact same day and also her swab sample was gathered. On June 20, she had been announced positive.

R Ganesh (name changed), Amita’s brother in-law, told TOI,”For the last week, BBMP did not do anything on Monday, we got a telephone. There’s been no follow up calls on which next. We do not know if we need to return or not.” The family was in Ramanagara until Tuesday evening.
