Rivers in spate, clergymen on ghats shift for security | Allahabad Information


Prayagraj: Flood management division officers maintained an in depth watch on low-lying areas like Meja, Sadar, Manda and Handia because the water degree of Ganga and Yamuna continued to rise in Prayagraj on Sunday.
District officers stated that the water degree of Ganga at Phaphamau and Chatnag rose by 2cm and 5cm respectively. At Naini, the water degree of Yamuna rose by 6cm .
The water degree of Ganga at Phaphamau and Chatnag was recorded as 80.32m and 79.28m respectively on Sunday night. At Naini, Yamuna was flowing at 79.87m. The hazard mark for each rivers is 84.73m.
The rivers have began approaching the premises of Bade Hanuman temple. In the meantime, clergymen and distributors who’ve arrange outlets on ghats shifted their belongings to safer places. RK Tiwari, a priest, stated “Many clergymen have shifted to Parade Floor space for the concern of floods.” Flood management division officers stated the rivers are rising because of the floodwater being launched from barrages in Narora, Haridwar and Kanpur.
