Google workers are signing an inner request, calling on the company to stop selling technology to police sections.
The correspondence, together with the headline”No Authorities Contracts,” started circulating a week and was signed by over 1,100 workers, who identify themselves within”Googlers Against Racism.” The record, which CNBC seen, asks CEO Sundar Pichai to”take real actions to dismantle racism,” and alleges that Google is”profiting” away racism with company contracts.

In this circumstance, workers state they want the company to stop selling technologies to agencies which, they state, are using it to injury. The letter criticizes Google for mentioning the New York-based Clarkstown Police Department as a featured consumer of Google Cloudthe exact same bureau that”was sued multiple times for illegal surveillance of Black Lives Issue”
The signers state they are interested in being pleased with their company and are thus forced to talk.
“The protest movement which started with George Floyd’s murder has expanded over the united states and across the world, developing to a rebellion against racism and police terror,” the petition states. “Why assist the associations accountable for the knee George Floyd’s neck to become effective organizationally?”
