Walking up Main Street into Cinderella’s Castle in Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida might seem at small different in the aftermath of this coronvirus pandemic, but it does not appear to be dampening the spirits of Disney’s cast members or its avid fans.

On Saturday, Disney started its phased reopening of its theme parks in Florida in the middle of a record amount of new Covid-19 events from the nation. The business is keenly aware that all eyes have been on this weekend, but its direction has expressed confidence in its own enhanced security measures and altered surgeries.

“There is a great deal of trust , either by our cast members and our guests, and we have got a duty to deliver on such a trust,” explained Josh D’Amaro, chairman of Disney’s Parks, Experiences and Products section.

While D’Amaro declined to offer specific ticketing numbers, he noticed guests are booking reservations to pay a visit to Disney’s parks and resorts as far outside as 2021.

“Folks adore Disney, they adore the adventures here,” he explained. “They know the world differs, they’re seeing us put together these excellent strategies and we’re seeing them publication for the long term and the long run.”

D’Amaro was formally named to the post of chairman in May, approximately four weeks after Bob Chapek left handed the place to substitute Bob Iger as CEO. He even took the helm of Disney’s parks, hotels, cruises, adventures and customer products a bit under three weeks after the business was forced to shutter all its theme parks on account of this coronavirus pandemic.

It is no easy feat to resume such a huge portion of Disney’s company. The section as a whole accounted for 37percent of the corporation’s $69.6 billion in total earnings this past year. While rival parks Universal Studios and SeaWorld reopened their gates in early June, Disney postponed its reopening until mid-July so as to bring back its large number of workers and retrain them into its new security procedures.

Since Disney has ready to reopen its own parks, D’Amaro has spent the previous week socializing with cast members and guests throughout soft opening events in its parks in Florida. He explained that cast members are familiar with Disney’s new security measures, including a compulsory mask policy and fever tests, and that guests happen to be”combined” with all the parks’ rules.

In Disney Springs, which reopened in late May,”all guests are sporting their own face masks and everybody knows their shared responsibility,” D’Amaro explained.

Disney has used particular cast members to be on the watch for guests who”might have experienced a small slip up” and did not replace their mask after drinking or eating, D’Amaro explained. Due to all of the communication and signage from the business about rules and expectations, he does not expect there to be too many episodes.

Disneyland in California is still awaiting recommendations from government officials prior to declaring its fresh reopening date, however, guests may expect a similar pair of security measures in Anaheim, D’Amaro explained.

Additionally, the building of Avengers Campus, a new property which has been slated to start in July of the year,”will definitely be moving ahead” and can be”looking great,” he explained. D’Amaro didn’t offer a particular timeline for when that fresh Marvel-themed property could open to the general public.

On Saturday, Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom in Florida reopen to the general public, and will likely be accompanied by Epcot and Hollywood Studios on July 15. Disneyland Paris is also slated for reopening on July 15.

“We feel excellent about everything that’s set up,” D’Amaro explained.
