Sacha Baron Cohen and his star brethren have a bone to pick with Facebook Inc. over misinformation and despise its own sprawling electronic platforms.

On Monday, the NAACP and the Anti-Defamation League stated that they had been calling celebrities and organizations to quit posting on Instagram, Facebook’s favorite photo-sharing program, for a day on Wednesday. They aim to Facebook’s managing of hateful content onto its own stage, and are demanding the firm stop allowing politicians to lie in political advertisements. (Facebook has announced a moratorium on new advertisements from the week preceding the Nov. 3 elections)

Protest organizers are especially perturbed by what they predict Facebook’s collapse to shutter the webpage of a Kenosha, Wisc., militia group. Last week, Facebook stated it eliminated misinformation on its own stage which antifa activists were putting blazes on the West Coast.

A Facebook spokesperson declined comment on the star demonstration. The organization’s stocks are level in after-hours trading Tuesday.

It is only the most recent PR hassle for Facebook, that has faced withering criticism for many years from members of both significant political parties for articles on its own platform. A Federal Trade Commission antitrust lawsuit could be filed from Facebook at the conclusion of 2020, according to a Wall Street Journal report late Tuesday. A Facebook spokesman declined comment.
